Facebook.
Yes, you know it well. You're online personality, your web persona, your 'Avatar' if you will.
You see, I have a problem with Facebook, and to avoid from rambling on, I'll just say it.
Facebook angers me.
What started out as a social networking site for students and professionals has quickly developed into an international conglomerate which has made you its dependent.
Okay, so Facebook suddenly disappears: What do you do? Are you upset? Are you confused? "What will we ever do without it!", some people will cry.
Facebook has made us dependent on Facebook. This is easy to see.
"Without it, how would we stay in touch with our friends and relatives?"
When Facebook dies, people will jump to the next big thing.
The world has become increasingly smaller due to the advances in technology and Facebook is perhaps the greatest example of this phenomenon.
So what can we do to stop this you ask. Well, unfortunately, there is no end in sight. Sooner or later something else will come along and capture the world's attention and gain their dependency. It is only a matter of time. Everything has a life cycle.
Until then I will remain angry at Facebook. And please, will you stop suggesting that I become friends with so-and-so... I don't even know them! They are friends of the family, geez!
To clarify, it is our dependence on Facebook that angers me. That being said, I am going to go and check my Facebook to see if anyone has commented on my latest witty status update!
Thanks for reading.
